It's catch up time... HS Memory Planner... June/July/August

There's nothing like a long winter holiday to get you behind on your memory keeping.  We did a 5 week family driving holiday Adelaide to Darwin and had a great time in the beautiful dry season. *sigh bliss*  We lived in Darwin for 8 years and sure do miss it.  Life in the Adelaide Hills surely is the polar opposite weather wise.  But we love it, luckily!

Anyway, the kids & I both all did a holiday journal... yep, 3 journals for the 1 holiday... and thanks to my Selphy we were able to keep our journals pretty much up to date during our travels.  But my gorgeous Heidi Swapp Memory Planner was left at home & really needed some catch up work.  And that has been me this week.

I use my Memory Planner to give a story & pics for the bigger events of the month.  The calendar side I like to note one little thing everyday.  This doesn't always happen, but I do try.  And then it is a few of the pictures from the month.  And I just love to make it look pretty... as you do.  For me that's using Heidi Swapp stamps - loving the new Project Life ones.  I team these with Ranger Archival Inks or colour using Tim Holtz Distress Markers.

I just love the Memory Planner.  It's so easy to use and really, really helps when it it comes to doing my Project Life... because yep, I'm behind on that too!

Hope you have a great week.

Let's Start!

Okay, so my first post... And we're away!

This weeks project has been getting my birthday invites finished & sent out.  Only 4 weeks to go, better get on it if I want anyone to come.

I was inspired by this gorgeous card from Jamie Pate... just love her stuff. Aaarrrggghhh - can't find Jamie's gorgeous card to link it now, of course.  Anyway, this is how my invite ended up.

As well as making something pretty, I really wanted to use up some papers from my stash... I have a love affair with patterned paper.  And I'm a hoarder :-/

I used Heidi Swapp's colour shine & chevron stencil for the top layer.  The cards with Kaisercraft Picked Pear matched with the Chartruese colour shine and the cards with the Basic Grey paisley patterned paper were matched with the Citron colour shine.

And to make the most of the colour shine I placed one sheet under the stencil and sprayed.  Then I placed another sheet over the top of the stencil, added a piece of paper towel on top & rolled with my brayer.  And (as my 4yo would say) Hey Presto - two sheets done with the spray of one!  Everyone loves a bonus!

I finished the card off with some cut files from my Silhouette Cameo - forty, the heart & the potty girl.  Made some flags from the paper scraps to layer under the heart & potty girl. Part of a doily was used in the top left corner with some black ribbon tied in a double bow.

Inside I had pre-printed the party details using a subway format which I created on publisher.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday.
